Midjourney V8.2 Now Default Model: Bolder Aesthetics, Enhanced Personalization, More Creative Edge

What's new

• V8.2 is now the default model for all subscribers since July 24 (previously only available via --preview)
• Enhanced Personalization: model better understands aesthetic preferences; more effective for profiles with large rating pools
• Bolder aesthetics: outputs described as more creative, striking, sophisticated, and edgier
• V8.1 remains available via --version 8.1 for users who prefer the previous style

Why it matters

The default model change affects all Midjourney users who don't explicitly specify a version. Improved Personalization is a key feature for long-time users who have built up large image rating histories.

How to try it

Active automatically for all subscribers (Basic, Standard, Pro, Mega). To revert to V8.1, use --version 8.1 parameter or change in /settings.
