Cursor Slack Integration: Pre-Task Planning, Multi-Repo Environments, Cross-Channel Support
What's new
- Plan before starting: Cursor shares a detailed plan before beginning any task and provides live status updates at each step
- Multi-repo environments: From a single Slack message, launch Cursor in a named multi-repo environment — e.g., frontend + backend + shared code across separate repos
- Cross-channel workflow: Cursor can read context from other Slack channels/threads and post updates back to relevant channels mid-task
- Mid-task switching: If Cursor needs a repo outside the current environment, it presents a Switch repository button
- UI improvements: In-message buttons replaced with compact footer links; cleaner rendering of tables, PRs, and artifacts
Why it matters
Multi-repo support solves one of the most common pain points in agentic coding at companies — Cursor can now operate across an entire polyrepo stack from a single Slack message.
How to try it
Install the Cursor Slack app from the Slack marketplace. Create a multi-repo environment in Cursor settings and reference it by name in Slack commands.
