Cursor 3.11: Side Chats and Agent Transcript Search

What's new

• Side Chats: open a side chat (/side, /btw, or the + button) to ask questions and explore without interrupting the main agent. Each Side Chat is a durable, full agent conversation you can revisit and at-mention to pull context back into the main thread
• Agent Transcript Search: full-text search across all past agent chats — beyond just names and PR numbers
• Improved project/repo picker: simpler selection of projects and repositories when launching an agent
• Cloud agent hooks: monitor prompts, responses, thinking steps, and subagent activity for cloud agents

Why it matters

Side Chats solve the main friction point of long agent sessions: developers had to interrupt the main agent just to ask a question or explore a tangent, losing context. Now they can investigate in parallel and smoothly transfer findings back into the main workflow.

How to try it

Available on all paid Cursor plans (version 3.11). Use /side or /btw in the chat panel to create a new Side Chat.
