Claude Cowork Adds Microsoft 365 Write Tools — Draft and Send Email, Manage Calendar, Create Files in OneDrive and SharePoint

What's new

• Email write access: Claude can draft and send emails, manage drafts and mailbox settings via Microsoft 365
• Calendar write access: Claude can create and update events in Outlook Calendar
• OneDrive/SharePoint write: Claude can create and update files in Microsoft cloud storage
• Requirement: write tools must be enabled by the team or organization administrator

Why it matters

Previously the M365 connector for Claude was primarily read-only — now Cowork can take real actions in the enterprise environment. Combined with the new mobile and web Cowork, Claude can act on behalf of users in the background even when the device is closed.

How to try it

Requires an active Microsoft 365 connector and admin-enabled write tools. Setup: Cowork → Settings → Connectors → Microsoft 365 → Enable write tools.
