GitHub Copilot Vision Is Now Generally Available on All Plans

What's new

• Chat attachments: Images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP) and PDFs directly in Copilot Chat
• Multimodal reasoning: Copilot analyzes visual content — screenshots, diagrams, UI mockups — in the context of code
• All plans: Free, Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise without admin policy activation
• Platforms: VS Code, github.com, and Copilot CLI
• GA date: July 1, 2026

Why it matters

Previously Vision was in preview and Business/Enterprise users needed admin policy activation. From July 1 it is automatically active for all subscribers. Developers can now share error screenshots, UI mockups for code generation, or architecture diagrams directly in conversation.

How to try it

Click the attachment icon in Copilot Chat in VS Code or on github.com and attach a file. No configuration or plan change required.
