Top announcements of the AWS Summit in New York, 2026
What happened
At AWS Summit New York on June 17-18, 2026, AWS moved core Amazon Bedrock AgentCore tiers to GA with new capabilities: AgentCore Harness for codeless production-grade agent build/deploy, Web Search grounding in cited web knowledge with zero data egress from the customer VPC, and AgentCore Optimization with failure/intent/trajectory insights across hundreds of sessions.
Context and impact
AgentCore is AWS's response to the growing agentic stack from OpenAI's Apps SDK, Google's Managed Agents, and Vercel eve. Each session runs in a Firecracker microVM (same sandbox as Lambda), providing enterprise-level isolation. GA means SLA, contractual data terms, and hard limits — required by regulated industries.
Details
