Meta tests stand-alone AI companion app for Facebook creators

What happened

On June 24, Meta announced it is reshaping Facebook Creator Studio into a stand-alone AI companion app for a select group of creators. Under the hood it runs the recently launched AI Creator Assistant.

Context and impact

Meta is trying to keep creators inside the Facebook ecosystem and stop them from defaulting to ChatGPT or third-party tools for ideas. The app is also a play to compete with TikTok and YouTube for creator mindshare.

• Creators see a daily feed of priorities: post reviews, goal tracking, comments awaiting replies.
• An AI feature surfaces important comments and drafts replies in the creator's own voice.
